Global building materials company Cemex USA, unveiled a $7M cement unloader acquired for the company’s operations at Port of Palm Beach, and dedicated it to Friends of Manatee Lagoon. The 225-ton, 70-foot-tall cement unloader was wrapped in beautiful and inspiring mural of manatees in their habitat. Friends of Manatee Lagoon is incredibly grateful to Cemex for their support of manatees and their habitats.

After the unveiling ceremony, guests were invited to Manatee Lagoon for a reception to celebrate the partnership. Guests also participated in the ribbon untying of 2 new exhibits – a seagrass aquarium and a seagrass wall, funded by Friends of Manatee Lagoon donors and supporters. Life size exhibits are the most impactful way to educate the community about the challenges Manatees encounter and best illustrate the ways in which we can help our environment and keep our ecosystems healthy.
